Finding Stuff

grep,locate,updatedb,find

locate => returns the path of filename you search
=> command locate test.txt

updatedb => force to update the database in linux (must log as root users)
=> command updatedb

grep => returns the path of filename you search
=> command grep filename|directory|wildcards
=> grep -R ==== search Recursively
=> grep test2 hperpo/test.txt
=> grep "test2" hperpo/.*

<= find =>
=> find
=>
=> -name
=> -user
=> -group
=> -size
=><-size>
=> -c [byte]
=> -k [kilobyte]
=> -M [Megabytes]
=> -G [Gigabytes]

=> for sample

=> find /hperpo -name "test.*" === return the pathnames of the file where can be find
=> find . -size -11c ====returns the filenames less than 11 bytes size
 

Running command Sequencially

-> using semicolon[;],double and[&&]

=>for example

=> ls; mkdir sample; touch sample/sample.txt;rm -r sample

=>Pros
-> it executes the commands even the previus command fails
=>Cons
-> what if the commands you run in previus is wrong then you delete it in last command, maybe you need back again

AND [&&]=> used the output of the previous command as the input of the current command
=> if previous command fails, the next command doesn't execute
=>sample
=> ls && mkdir sample && touch sample/sample.txt && rm -r sample

OR [||] => it acts as the independent command that executes if the previous fails
=>sample
=> ping -c 192.168.5.33 || echo "can't ping the address"
